A bit about me.

Hi, I’m Tanya Hoffman – a UX and UI designer with a strong focus on product design and solving real problems for real people. I’ve been in the design world since 2008, starting out in multimedia before following my growing interest in UX and UI.

I was born in sunny South Africa and raised in the wild, open spaces of Botswana and Zambia. That early connection to nature and people still shapes how I see the world — with curiosity, empathy, and a desire to understand how things work and how they can be better. Eventually, I returned to Johannesburg to pursue a career in design, and I haven’t looked back since.

I’m hearing impaired, so clear communication and accessibility aren’t just important to me — they’re part of how I live and work every day. I believe design should work for everyone, not just a few. That’s why I value collaboration, honest feedback, and testing ideas regularly. The best solutions come from understanding the problem first — and that starts with listening.

I’m passionate about breaking down complex challenges into clear, human-centered experiences. I’m driven by process, fuelled by purpose, and happiest when I’m working with others to build something meaningful.

Outside of work, you’ll find me hiking, drawing, creating, or just exploring something new. Nature is where I recharge, and creativity is how I stay grounded.

My Values.

Communication resolves issues

Many confusions, misunderstandings, and issues can be resolved by dedicating time to genuinely listen and communicate clearly.

Learning is ongoing

The journey of learning is endless; as our society evolves, so do the systems, tools, trends, and user behaviors. To remain relevant, we must keep expanding our knowledge.

Stay humble

No matter how knowledgeable you feel, there's much to learn. Value lessons from everyone, regardless of their background. Respect and understanding can lead to surprising insights.
